With a sculpted aluminum body and specific woods, the Ted 4-string basses produce a unique sound. Bauxite and Saphyr have their own lines and characteristics, but above all, a very personal character to make the sound shine and take you into a new sound universe. The Short Scale adopts a body borrowed from the legendary guitar that has seduced countless musicians around the world and over the years.
UNIQUE BASSES, UNIQUE PICKUPS
Ted basses are designed to deliver sound that matches their unique personality by harnessing the unparalleled acoustic powers of aluminum.
This is why they are equipped with a pair of CREL microphones, developed exclusively for Ted Guitars and manufactured in France.
Ted Guitars and CREL have teamed up to develop pickups capable of capturing the incredible harmonics of an aluminum body. Extensive testing has allowed us to choose the best grains to give Ted basses the best sound.
Bauxite, Saphyr and Motel SC are equipped with the same specifically selected microphones. You will therefore opt for one model or the other depending on the design and ergonomics. To choose, experience testing a Ted in store and understand how Ted and CREL make aluminum sound.
VINTAGE AND HIGH-TECH SLEEVES
Ted Guitars' desire is to build necks using traditional methods, supported by today's technical means.
But also to practice a reasoned production by excluding woods coming from far away to favor high quality French species. These woods are perfect for violin making and offer great reliability during the drying and cutting phases.
The design of the handle was based on the best proven standards.
A 12'' radius, a pleasant section, and the right compromise between robustness and ergonomics, for a pleasant grip and great playing comfort.
The Tusq nut brings out the best in the sound of the metal, which the neck woods complement with their warm mids and bass, an unprecedented marriage of materials at the service of the sound.
The Gotoh tuners and the Schaller bridge are the only components produced outside France. Ted Guitars is studying how to do things differently in the future, and for the moment is placing its trust in two impeccable references.
All these choices were made after hours of work with experienced luthiers, and tests in the studio and in concert.
Always looking to improve its products, Ted Guitars does not refrain from studying specific requests, to satisfy its customers' expectations as much as possible.

Aluminum is Ted Guitars' signature. A body with a unique look, with its palette of grays that bounce the light, and above all new tones that broaden the experience of playing a bass.
These cases are a concentrate of innovations and it is from aeronautical techniques that Ted Guitars has drawn its manufacturing secrets.
A sturdy case, but 30% lighter than solid body cases, which will relieve your back and allow you to extend your sessions and thus make the pleasure last.
A metal box is the best ally to combat parasitic sounds, according to the principle of the Faraday cage.
